Mark Moore (Founder and CEO) spent the beginning of his career in the PC industry during its formative years, and he experienced first hand the pain of manual porting and testing of new software for the constantly changing and growing PC landscape. The labor intensive and time consuming porting and QA process had significant impact on development cost and schedules. As the PC industry evolved, huge test labs sprang up to allow outsourced manual testing of software. Test automation logically emerged soon thereafter, speeding up development cycles even more. A new industry for software development tools was born, with dozens of hundred million/billion-dollar companies serving the growing developer community.
As he became familiar with the mobile communications world, Mark saw that history was repeating itself. He saw wireless content providers struggling with the same manual testing issues that had plagued PC software developers. However, in the mobile industry, the problem was amplified because there are hundreds more platforms as well as network differences that need to be considered and tested against.
